Azure AD Application Proxy provides single sign-on (SSO) and secure remote access for web applications hosted on-premises. Some applications that you will need to publish may include SharePoint sites, Outlook Web Access, or any other business applications you use.

These local web applications environments integrate with the Azure AD identity and management platform, which is also used to access Office 365. Users can access local apps the same way they access Office 365 apps and other SaaS offerings integrated with Azure AD. This does not require creating a VPN or changing the network infrastructure.
