Adobe has introduced a new feature called Generative Fill in Photoshop, which brings the capabilities of artificial intelligence directly into the workflow.

Generative Fill, based on Firefly, is the world's first assistant for creative workflows, allowing easy addition, expansion, or removal of image content in a matter of seconds using simple text commands, as well as pushing the boundaries of image composition.

This marks the beginning of a major campaign to integrate AI generators into creative workflows within the Creative Cloud, a promising pilot to expedite idea generation and creative work.

The feature utilizes the Firefly image generator, which was released a few weeks ago with an initial focus on image and text effects creation. It quickly became one of Adobe's most successful beta launches in history, with users generating over 100 million assets. The generator is trained on images from Adobe Stock and copyrighted content owned by Adobe, which means everything created within this application can be used for commercial purposes.

Generative Fill is already available today in the beta version of the desktop application Photoshop, with the full version set to be released in the second half of 2023.
